Biography
Heidi Mattson is a native of Connecticut. She spent several years studying literature and history at Bard College, only leaving the beautiful Hudson Valley for the chance to live in Galway, Ireland. Further opportunities led her to California and then to Paris. After several years studying, traveling, and teaching at home and abroad, she completed her M.S. in Education at the University of New Haven. She jumped at the chance to return to the climate and open minds of the Bay Area, and took a position teaching 3rd grade at The French American International School in San Francisco. Heidi joined the faculty at The Crowden School in 2004, bringing her enthusiasm for curriculum development and cooperative teaching with her. Her classroom motto is: Every human being makes history. Let’s make our time here matter. When Heidi isn’t in the 4th Grade classroom, she is at home with her family digging in her garden.
