SUMMER PROGRAM
Workshop Intensive for Adult Singers
Course Description
July 27 to 30
Saturday–Tuesday, 10am to 3pm
Performance Wednesday, July 31, 7pm
This four-day vocal workshop includes daily breath clinics, ear training, and sight reading workshops. Participants will benefit from a vocal health seminar, individual coaching sessions with Crowden’s esteemed collaborative pianists and vocal coach, as well as staging rehearsals. Additionally, dedicated independent rehearsal time is provided for participants.
The focus of this vocal workshop is to explore the joy of singing the vast and diverse canon of beautiful masterpieces written for all voice types and genres ranging from early music to contemporary pieces.
Participants will engage in a social and collaborative atmosphere, fostering a shared passion for the art of singing.
Each participant will be assigned two ensembles and grouped into duets, trios and solos based on their voice type, singing proficiency, musical interests, and schedule availability. The workshop culminates in an informal concert on its final day where participants showcase their progress for family and friends.
Vocalists of all experience levels are welcome and encouraged to participate, though a basic understanding of reading music fundamentals is required.
Audition by appointment; Crowden will contact prospective students after receipt of registration form. Repertoire will be assigned upon the results of auditions.
Please note: Crowden’s summer programs are subject to change based on public health guidelines.
This program has been made possible, in part, with support from ACMP Associated Chamber Music Players.
