Community Music Day
Sunday, October 21, 2012, 10 am-3 pm
Crowden Music Center
FREE to the entire community!

Join us for musical fun throughout the day! Community Music Day is Crowden’s largest outreach event, attracting around 1,700 individuals each year.
Instrument Petting Zoo
Kids and adults alike explore, touch, and learn to make sounds on all the different instruments in a symphony orchestra! We even have special miniature string instruments for tiny hands and fingers.
Very First Concerts: Meet the Orchestra
The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra performs short and engaging programs based on the musical theme "Meet the Orchestra." Join us in a visit to the zoo: the instrument zoo! Meet the nimble violin, the grumpy bassoon, the growling trombone, and all the other musical instruments that make up the modern day orchestra.
Tumbling mats for wriggling toddlers, short selections, and hands-on musical activities make this the perfect way to introduce the youngest children to the joys of live classical music.
Repeat performances at 10:40am, 11:20am, & 12:00pm.
Class demonstrations
Family members of all ages can sing, dance, move, and drum together in our short class demonstrations.
Instrument making
Construct your own instruments to make music at home with!
"Chill" room
Relax from the crowds in the “chill” room, where we’ll show music-related movies.
