Community Overview
CCMC is committed to making music education accessible throughout the Bay Area. While low-cost music lessons and classes form a significant part of our program, we bring music into the community in many other ways!
Our annual Community Music Day brings over 1,000 visitors to Crowden for a fun-filled carnival of musical exploration! Young children especially enjoy musical performances, face-painting, the ever-popular “instrument petting zoo,” and much more!
Our Sundays @ Four concert series offers chamber music performances by extraordinary musicians to the community throughout the year. General admission is very low cost, our immediate neighbors receive a half-off discount, and admission for children 18 and under is always free.
CCMC brings outstanding music classes into the community directly with our Outreach Programs. Current off-site programs include classes at Washington Elementary (Berkeley Public School District) and Resurrection Lutheran Church (Oakland).
CCMC supports other Bay Area performing arts organizations by providing rehearsal and concert space.
